Members of our club in Rijeka Urbana-Barakuda shown us that they have an excellent techniques for their range and what is to be especially pointed out is their very quick and easy learning abilities. Namely, on every new meeting the great progress was showed as in techniques learned before and new once. I believe in them and with such good boys Urbana in Rijeka is on very good way. KRAV MAGA In concern of existence of really great numbers of fighting styles it's easy to be confuse when some particularly style are mentioned. As I wish to inform members of Urbana about characteristics of different styles, we periodically call instructors that we considered enough competent to show their style. Nowadays Israeli self-defense system Krav Maga is very often mentioned in Croatia, so we've invited Mr Željko Riha to show us this modern method and he responded gladly. As a real professional he introduced himself as follows:
For many years I have been training all kind of fighting systems and martial arts. Through experience in the ring, in mixed martial arts rules, I've met all kinds of different martial styles. I saw and learned Krav Maga on my education for a security job, where I realized that there is a big difference between martial art and self-defense system. I wanted to learn more about Krav Maga and to become an expert in that field. I started a long and difficult path with many challenges to become an instructor and to spread my knowledge to others. My education was in Israeli College for Security, and also I am a member of International Security Association. Now I'm a Rapid Deployment Assistance team leader. After introducing himself Mr. Riha made a short explanation of origin and main characteristics of Krav Maga. In an hour or so he also taught us basic elements of that skill. After that we discussed about Krav Maga and Urbana System and we concluded that basically they are very similar self-defense systems with similar way of settling conflict situations, in fact quickness, effectiveness and simplicity. The main difference is in details of performance and way of training. We concluded that it is not so important if those techniques can be used in real situations and help in self-defense. On this occasion I would like to offer thanks to Mr. Riha on his professional performance of Krav Maga, and I hope we'll meet again. I wish him a great success in his work.

JASREBARSKO Urbana – Jasrebarsko is in fact first club in which URBANA-SYSTEM started and sensei Lana Barbir, the leader of this club, was my first pupil. This is the reason why every visit to this club and Lana is a special adventure, and so it was this time. The club has difficulties with room because they have lost space in which they have worked from the beginning. But Lana quickly has found temporary solution, and with no doubt she will also find permanently solution. Few members couldn't be present this time because of working obligations, but the others were brilliant as they always were. In fact, I didn't expect less than the best. I want to point out that sensei Lana Barbir have proved with her previous work that she is excellent instructor and she can teach even the most complicated techniques. BRAVO LANA!!!
