Bushey Dojo Infant & Junior classes Monday and Friday Well were back and we have kicked off the new year with loads of revision work for all the infant and junior classes. Already we have taken on board some new members in both the infant and junior classes in both Monday and Friday classes. Student of the month has been awarded to Lewis Barton from the Friday junior class for the student who has most improved. Lewis works hard and has shown great determination in class, well done Lewis.
Welcome back everyone, We have started the new year with a vengeance, already hitting the phys (and the mats) hard and getting straight into some self defence work and making a good start with everyone's new syllabus after their success in passing Decembers gradings. We say a fond fair well to Rei who has gone back to Denmark and we wish her happy travels and hopefully she'll be back later in the year. Welcome back Elliot who returns after recuperating from his nasty hand injury and has got straight back into training with Thomas, Jason and John on their Green belt syllabus. Meanwhile novices Mohammed and Steven are making great headway with their White belt syllabus. |

Borehamwood Dojo Infant & Junior Classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday It's good to see everyone back in good spirit, all the infants are back and raring to go as are the juniors, we have already had a couple of yee haa sessions and it's clear everyone is enjoying the Side Handle Baton work. Student of the month has been awarded to Aleesha Pandya from Saturday Junior class (much to her surprise). Aleesha has really stepped up her training and is beginning to stand out in the class for having the loudest Kiai. Keep up the good work Aleesha.
We kicked of the new year for the intermediates with a weapons session which included some serious SHB techniques and a complete white belt revision session. We are also making great headway with their Yellow belt syllabus and a session covering the Body Drop & Major Outer Reap in great detail has really shown some vast improvements. We also had a mammoth bag session including punching & kicking techniques as well as a full minute each milling.
The Seniors have been treated to the Sensei Andy school of thuggary & hard knocks and have already had some excellent sessions with the punch bags and gloves to see if some of that hard to shift Christmas pudding that is still hanging around can be burnt off. We have already started to cover some technical aspects of the weapons needed for their new syllabus as well. Gabriel has started throwing around his SHB, whilst Oliver and Mark (as well as some of the regular Bushey visitors Chris, Mark & Steven) are beginning to enjoy the finer aspects of the Pellsuader Baton. |

St Columba's Boys School I am so pleased with the boys here, they are displaying a great sense of deal of common sense and good behaviour as we are working with the Side Handle Baton this term. The lads have settled quite quickly into a disciplined routine and we will be covering the basic kata and 5 techniques for their end of term grading. Student of the Month has been awarded to James Kirsch who has slotted into the role of class Sempai very well indeed, he is always polite and helpful to me and his classmates.
